Research Assistant (Part-time)
Support Skyrapay Consultations with academic research, literature reviews, document preparation, and client research projects on a flexible part-time basis.
Skyrapay Consultations CC provides IT consulting, business services, and student research support across Namibia. Our Skyrapay Research Suite platform helps students and professionals with literature search, citations, writing, and research planning.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team part-time. You will work on real client and internal research tasks — from gathering sources and formatting references to supporting dissertation chapters and research proposals.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct literature searches and summarise academic sources
- Help prepare research proposals, assignments, and dissertation sections
- Format documents, references, and bibliographies (APA, Harvard, etc.)
- Support data collection, transcription, and basic analysis tasks
- Assist with quality checks on research documents before delivery
- Use the Skyrapay Research Suite tools where relevant
- Communicate progress clearly and meet agreed deadlines
Minimum requirements
- Currently enrolled in or completed a diploma, degree, honours, or masters programme
- Strong academic writing and reading skills in English
- Familiarity with research methods and citation styles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and online research tools
- Able to work from home with a quiet, dedicated workspace
- Own computer or laptop suitable for research and document work
- Ready to work under pressure and meet tight client deadlines
- Based in Namibia or able to work in Namibia time zones
Preferred
- Experience with qualitative or quantitative research projects
- Background in education, business, social sciences, or related fields
- Prior tutoring, research assistance, or editorial experience
- Familiarity with reference managers (Zotero, Mendeley, etc.)
